Had great EMTs on the ambulance..however, after that it was a nightmare. Billing department has no idea what they are doing. Had 2 separate “service numbers” when I received 1 service. They then applied the insurance to the 1st service and billed me for the 2nd. Then once insurance called they got it situated..or so we thought. I then received another bill for 5x the amount that was on my EOB from insurance. They did not honor the contract they had with the insurance company and billed me the full amount..someone who doesn’t know anything about this stuff would’ve been scammed. I have spent over 15 hours on the phone with these people trying to get them to honor their OWN contract..I had to be mailed the contract from insurance in order to prove to them they have a contract..once insurance called and told them they were wrong (3rd time insurance has had to call) they said they would get it fixed. They were trying to tell me my bill was then late because they took so long trying to learn how to do their job. Next thing you know I received an “updated bill” for the same amount saying my insurance is “out of network” so again had to get insurance and myself on the phone and speak with a supervisor..they said they would get the situation handled. After over 6 months, hours on the phone, 5 different bills, 2 service numbers,4 calls from insurance..they FINALLY got the bill correct and somehow “found the contract” that they had with the insurance company. I should not have to spend my time telling you guys how to read a contract or bill your patients. I didn’t even want the ambulance ride in the first place but they wouldn’t let us drive..what a nightmare

Amazing Ambulance District with outstanding staff. I've been very impressed with the wide array of educational and outreach programs offered by the St. Charles County Ambulance District. I've attended a number of these programs and they are always professionally presented and engaging as well as educational. Participants leave with the tools they need to prevent injuries or improve outcomes when emergencies happen. Each program and outreach opportunity is specifically designed to meet the needs of those attending. They do an wonderful job and I love that they focus on prevention, education, and community support as well as responding to emergencies.

We had to call 911 because my husband past out during his in home Hemo Dialysis treatment. The Paramedic team were here within a few short min and taking care of him. Ryan was absolutely amazing and gave us some information about our treatment care that could absolutely save his life! I'm so thankful for our Paramedics and firefighters. I attended the ribbon cutting & took a tour of the brand new facilities today. I was very impressed with the robust training facilities as well as the vehicle upkeep & maintenance area. The leadership are very conscientious about how they can help the community now & also in the future. The new building shows their dedication to serve the county as it continues to grow for years to come.

In late 2020 when Covid was at it's worst the team's decision to move forward with a huge fundraiser "fill the ambulance" and succeeded successfully! Above and Beyond!

St. Charles County Ambulance District is an asset to have in St. Charles County. I can’t say enough positive things about the fantastic EMTs/Paramedics that are here to support us in our time of need. The CRUSH Program is a top rated program in our community to stop heroin. The level of community involvement from their employees sets SCCAD apart. We are lucky to have such a great organization in St. Charles County.
