3am on July 4th my husband had to call 911 for me because I was unconscious unable to wake up, I am a diabetic. The 2 paramedics, from what I was told and what little I remember, were very kind, caring, patient & professional from pickup to hospital delivery.
Last August I had to call 911 for my husband, he had abdominal pain and wanted an ambulance he just had a feeling things were going to go south and they did. On the ride, 8 miles, he passed out and also vomited several times on himself, the gurney, the paramedic and floor. The 2 paramedics were respectful, kind and professional from the time they enter our home to drop off at the hospital.
I am from a first responder family (I am former EMT, several firefighters and fire chief). I know what to expect, what their job is and how they go about it. These 2 crews were wonderful & professional.

Drive yourself to the hospital. Tonight I called for a friend and they took 20+ minutes for them to arrive, the paramedics got an attitude with me when they stopped to talk to me instead of helping my friend. And than yelled at me in my own home. Than they called the cops in because the paramedic who yelled at me in my own home had a vibe about me. I am also filing a complaint with the relevant state departments.

Crew was great, but I know they didn’t get any of the $1200 I had to pay for an 11mile ride. I would give them 5 stars if I could for the care they provided in a very scary situation. The billing is awful! We tried to negotiate this and it took 3 months to get a final bill (which they didn’t budge on the price). I paid this 3 days after receiving the final bill and I was still turned into collections. Told my husband to just let me die next time! Hope they choke on that money.

Not only is it frustrating with my mom being in the hospital, but somehow on the way, the EMS staff had put her phone and her glasses in a bag and it never made it to her room once she got to the ER. Now we still don’t have her glasses. The hospital can’t find them. The EMS staff with the Cedar Rapids area ambulance services says that they cannot find them and at the end of each shift, the trucks are cleaned out, so there’s no possible way that her phone is there either. The most frustrating part is that the phone is replaceable, but there are things on there that are not. Messages, photos and things of my late brother were on there and without that phone, they are gone. Even if we replaced the phone, she cannot see it without her glasses. She has not been to the doctor in a while and she cannot immediately get replacement glasses, the problem with her getting replacement glasses is she does not even have the ability to walk hardly, so to take her into a doctor after she is released from the hospital, sometime in the future, is an extremely difficult problem for her. I’m just very upset at the whole situation. I’m upset at the ambulance staff, I’m upset at the emergency room staff. At some point, staff from either one of these places has lost my mothers irreplaceable belongings. The hospital staff have to read the menu to her for her to be able to order her meals. My mother cannot walk and now she cannot see either. I’m so frustrated. The staff were caring and gentle with my mother, they provided a service that saved her life. I know things happen, but this is just frustrating that a bag of things just disappeared and everyone seems to point the finger at the other agency.

Can't rate the staff because we never used the service. Billing is the worst. We
have been sent the bill for someone who lives in Cedar Rapids, we are hours away from there. Let's hope they make sure who they treated and don't mix the meds.

The ambulance crew were amazing, but billing was terrible. Apparently had my childhood address on file even though I've lived numerous places since(and had my address updated at the Post Office) and so my bill was sent to collections. Called them to explain this and they said it was my fault I didn't update my address at the post office(even though i had) and that they refuse to take it back from collections. Oh, and they also didn't have my insurance on file or bother to ask for it so insurance hasn't paid for any of it. Outstanding.

The EMT's were great with my husband in his emergency in November 2021. However, billing is awful. Their bill was outrageous and they wouldn't negotiate a fair and reasonable price. In our emergency they were the only ambulance company we were told to call in the Cedar Rapids area. Very, very disappointing.

Called for an elderly vet to b transported to a hospital..took them over 25 minutes to get there...they left the Gurnee outside on the deck...told the patient he didn't have to go to the hosp his vitals were good several xs. He could t transfer or walk but was told to stand to pull up pants then use walker to go into kitchen even after several xs being told he couldn't. Got his electric wc he barely made two step w help to that and then they had him ride it out to the deck and transfer to the Gurnee! Very rough w him also...I just received news that he passed....what has happened to empathy?!!!!
