Community Ambulance’s services have always been punctual and reliable from my experience. But the service that they provide is not the reason for which I am writing this review. I am the scheduler for a rehabilitation hospital, I make phone calls and speak with many representatives and receptionists trying to help out patients. During my time in this position I have spoken to some truly useful operators, and then there’s Nicole. Truth be told, I look forward to calling Community Ambulance with the hope that Nicole will be the one picking up. I’ve set up rides multiple times with C.A., but Nicole is the only one who recognizes the number and is already prepared for a smooth call. She knows where they’re going by now, what equipment most need, and what they are transported for - her diligence genuinely helps me out so much. She’s also just incredibly nice. The reason I look forward to talking to her is because her energy over the phone is contagious enough to brighten me up after some long and tough days. Even though this is a personal anecdote, I know for a fact that she takes the time and effort to speak to the individual rather than just relay their information to a driver. Nicole, if you’re reading this, I hope your bosses know you’re single-handedly keeping me (and by extension, our hospital) loyal to you! Also, I apologize for taking so long to write this, you’re a difficult person to speak briefly of <3 :)

Was told by the Dr at Henderson hospital I needed to be transferred to another hospital. I asked right away as my wife was sitting right next to me if she can just do it because I didn’t wanna pay more money out of pocket for no reason.They then told me don’t worry it should be covered and pretty much pushed me to take an ambulance, I then get hit with a huge bill I was pretty mad as I’m already paying hospital bills what my insurance didn’t cover, for anyone out there don’t trust anything and just transport yourself if possible I was told to call back in 2 weeks when I tried to get on a payment plan then all the sudden it’s in collections what a joke. I’m all for paying what’s owed and doing what I can but I feel like I was definately done pretty dirty.

This whole business is a Joke!!! From the ambulance drivers to the billing. We called 911 when My son broke his femur in football. 2 clowns showed up not even knowing how to get on the field and didn't know how to use their own equipment. As a nurse, I was appalled. They never gave my son any kind of pain medicine on the way despite me asking several times. UMC Children's trauma was questioning them because his heart rate was over 200 when he arrived and he was screaming in pain the whole time. A friend commented we should have loaded him in their truck and transported him ourselves. He was traumatized by that shotty ambulance. Also, the inside was disorganized, stuff was laying all over everywhere. Gauze, lines, tape. It was filthy like nobody ever cleaned.
Now, for the last month, I've tried to make a payment for the bill I received but nobody answers the phone ..EVER. Leave a message, nobody calls back!!!

Watches out for this company's billing. I received a bill for my co-pay and mailed a payment 2 days later. I then received my monthly statement from the insurance and the amount they showed as my co-pay matched the amount I was billed. All is good, or so I thought. A few weeks later I received another bill. Checked with my bank and they had deposited my check a good 3 weeks prior to the invoice date of the second bill. Sent proof back to them with a note asking why I was billed a second time. No response. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later I received a phone call requesting payment. I told the guy my check had been cashed two months prior, but he insisted no payment had been received. He supposedly checked the records again, only after I insisted, but still told me no payment received. Only after I gave him dates of when check was cashed and when i received the 2nd bill and I counted them, did he suddenly find the payment and tried to tell me it had just been received 3 days prior. I responded that I had proof of everything, including a copy the the check with the date it was deposited on it. I also mentioned that they were being fraudulent and would be reported if they continued their illegal attempts at double billing.
It's just my guess, but they may be trying to make up differences from the contracted payments they receive from the insurance companies and the amounts they bill.
I want to be clear my problem is with the billing department. The two EMTs were great.

What a great experience! The ambulance was clean, the paramedics were friendly, attentitive, thoughtful, efficient, and professional. Made the ride so much better than I hadexpeczed. Brittany & Sondra were so amazing!! I honestly can't say enough about how great of an experience overall that my ride was.Wow! Ignore the negative naysayers...this company did an A+ job for me and I have no doubt they will for you too!

Worst billing department I have encountered. I received a bill & never should have paid it. My insurance took care of the balance. I have called & mailed a letter as I need my refund to pay medical bills. Four times I have contacted them with no response. I will get a ride to the hospital in the future. Do not use this this company if you can avoid it !

I should have taken an UBER!!
The ambulance workers were great and took good care of me, thank you so much. HOWEVER, The billing department is a joke! They sent my account to collections in August even though my insurance had covered the remaining balance in March. They just inform me this, and they have no excuse for why it went to collections months after it was already paid.
I'm trying to refinance my mortgage so we can replace my partners car, but my credit has this huge ding in it now. I tried to be so nice and patient with them but I am so upset now.

They told me they were going to send me proof that my account was paid so I could show the collection agency. I was supposed to receive it 10 days ago! The collection agency says they should be able to report it was paid right away and it would show up on the collection agency since they work together. They have not done so even though I have called multiple times. I just recorded a phone call with them saying that the balance was paid and that they had this mistake of reporting it to collections after it was already a zero balance.

I filed a dispute, and luckily while I'm in school I get free legal counsel from my university. Hopefully I see them in court soon and not only will this derogatory remark be removed but I can receive payment from the damages they have caused me.

Alex and Cody answered my 911 call around 1:30 am yesterday. It wasn't a lights or sirens call, I fell in the shower the night before. I couldn't stand on my right leg and was in a lot of pain.
I didn't have to wait long for them. They both took very good care of me and Cody took a moment while Alex settled me in to reassure my sister.
After I got some pain and nausea relief - thank you again Alex - I was feeling better and we joked around a wee bit! That helps when you don't know what damage could have happened. They got me settled on a bed at the hospital. Then they left.
Turns out I have a hairline fracture in my tailbone.
